Harmonisation: © ISES gGmbH 2022 \- Territorial level: agricultural plots \- The map shows the economic potential of integrated photovoltaic on agricultural plots in the Greater Region while using bifacial vertical modules. Only proritory surfaces of more than ≥ 10 ha and corn-free crops are visualised. With current technologies, surfaces of more than 10 ha are now economically exploitable. The cultivated areas of maize are not suitable due to the heights of the plants. According to the applicable legal framework, areas are highlighted. Clicking on a highlighted area is given additional information in relation to the potentially installable capacity relating to the potential electrical efficiency as well as the legal framework. These are theoretical deposits based on calculations and assumptions made. Thus, when using the data, account must be taken of the fact that these data are based on a statistical approach that represents an approximation or an estimate of the deposits. In October 2022, the Luxembourg Ministry of Energy and Spatial Planning launched a call for tenders for the promotion of pilot agri-voltaism facilities on agricultural land. Photovoltaic projects should continue to ensure agricultural production on land while promoting biodiversity (flora). The projects will be supported by a market premium over a period of 15 years. It should be noted that the prioritised areas and the potentials identified on the large-regional maps are based on assumptions specific to projects within the framework of the “PV follow function” project and do not make it possible to decide on the possibility of obtaining authorisations, nor on the technical and economic feasibility of a project in the context of the call for tenders organised by the Luxembourg Ministry.
