Care; expenditure and financing; 1972-2020
Description
This table contains data on expenditure on health care and its financing from 1972 onwards. Expenditure is in actual prices and in 2010 prices.
In 1998 CBS changed from the description of Costs and financing of publicly funded healthcare to a description of the entire field of care, financed by all possible sources. In this table, the figures covering the whole area of care, including well-being, are set back to 1972.
Since the figures before 1999 are estimated differently than after 1997, the year 1998 has been included twice: once with the newly estimated figures based on the old statistics, and once with the figures according to the new set-up.
Data available from 1972 to 2020
Status of figures:
Figures for 2020 are provisional; the figures for 2018 and 2019 are further provisional; The other figures are final. As the table has been discontinued, the data will no longer be finalised.
Changes as of 7 July 2022:
This table has been discontinued and has been followed by the new table 'Care; expenditure and financing from 1972 onwards' (see paragraph 3).
Changes as of 26 November 2021:
The figures for 2020 have been added, the figures for 2017-2019 have been adjusted.
By using an improved calculation method and new sources, the figures on 'Healthcare expenditure in 2010 prices' and 'Healthcare expenditure, quantity index' have been adjusted for 1998 to 2012 and added for 2013 to 2019.
