Description
Provision B24 of SDAGE 2022-2027: Preserve strategic resources for the future through safeguard zones
Safeguard zones are strategic areas of groundwater bodies, identified in Map B24 and Table B24, which must be the subject of a priority public policy for the preservation of water resources used today and potentially used in the future for drinking water supply. Special vigilance is required in order to prevent deterioration of the status of the water bodies concerned.
In sub-parts of these safeguard zones, where the resource is now used for drinking water supply, stricter targets can be set to reduce the level of treatment to produce drinking water.
