Pension gap for the total pension according to the Staff Regulations

The graph below shows the total pension gap for people who have recently taken their retirement pension according to the Staff Regulations. Again, we examine the pension differentials in relation to the median total pension. Half of each population receives a total pension above the median, the other half a total pension below the median. If we compare this graph with the previous one, we immediately notice a large difference between the average and median pension values for all groups. This is a consequence of the unequal distribution of supplementary pensions. In the graph below, the average total pension is broken down to show the average statutory pension and the average supplementary pension. We do this for each status and, of course, for men and women separately. Between 2019 and 2022, the supplementary pension gap among employees who worked as employees increased from 36% to 37%. It is interesting to note that this is the only status for which there is no decrease in the pension gap.
