Description

This table describes where the money spent on health and welfare comes from. The money flows from the 'funding sources' via the 'funding forms' to the providers of health and welfare care and the institutions for policy and management in the field of health and welfare care. In this table, cash flows in current prices are traced back to their final origin as far as possible: households (including self-employed), general government as redistributor, companies/employers (including general government as employer) and the rest of the world. Data available from 1998 to 2022 Status of figures: Figures for 2021 and 2022 are further provisional. As this table has been discontinued, the figures are no longer definitive. Figures for the remaining years are final. The total expenditure according to the forms of financing are equal to the total healthcare expenditure as in the table 'Health and welfare expenditure; healthcare providers, financing, 1998-2022' (see paragraph 3 for a link to this table). Changes as of 10 December 2024: - The name of the topic 'health care expenditures in the broad sense' has been changed to 'health and welfare expenditures'. - The table has been discontinued. When will there be new figures? No longer applicable. The table has been discontinued and will be followed by a new table in 2025.
