Luberon Park — UNESCO Geopark Perimeter
Description
In 2004, the Luberon Regional Natural Park was admitted to the UNESCO-supported network of Global Geoparks (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation). In 2015, the International Programme for Geosciences and Geoparks was established at the UNESCO General Conference. The Luberon Regional Natural Park has been recognised as UNESCO Global Geopark: https://www.parcduluberon.fr/unesco-geoparc/ This international label recognises the Park’s commitment to the protection and enhancement of Earth’s heritage. This commitment translates into numerous actions carried out by the Luberon Regional Natural Park in terms of scientific research, conservation, educational actions, public mobilisation, geotourism development, cooperation within the global Geopark network, etc.
