Description
The metadata record describes all legally binding areas in which special protection of nature and landscape is necessary for the preservation, development or restoration of the performance and functioning of the natural balance or the regeneration capacity and sustainable utilisation of natural goods, including the protection of habitats and habitats of certain wild animal and plant species, because of the diversity, peculiarity and beauty or the special cultural historical significance of the landscape or because of its special significance for recreation (Section 26(1) of the Federal Nature Conservation Act). Currently, there are in the Lkr. North Saxony 16 areas with a total area of approximately 927 square kilometres. Responsible for the expulsion is the Landratsamt Nordsachsen as Lower Nature Conservation Authority.
