Description
WMS service corresponding to the Habitat of Community Interest proposed as a priority for Andalusia 92B0-1, shrub formations dominated by the ojaranzo (Rhododendron ponticum), accompanied by other lauroid species, relict ferns, bryophytes, etc., exclusive to areas with very high and constant environmental humidity, at the head of streams and gorges, and sometimes not linked to any water course, favored by high rainfall and the presence of continuous fog. They are exclusive to a few siliceous mountain ranges in south-eastern Cadiz, and are locally called ‘canutes’. Among the species characteristic of these formations are ojaranzo (Rhododendron ponticum), laurel (laurus nobilis), hazelnut (Frangula alnus subsp. baetica), ivy (Hederá hélix), honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum subsp. hispanica), white heather (Erica arborea), holly (Ilex aquifolium), colchonero fern (Culcita macrocarpa), Davallia canariensis, etc. Node of the Andalusian Environmental Information Network.
