Depth of Midmiocene Discordance (MMU) in the duck beak
Description
The Midmiocene Concordance (MMU) can be mapped across the German North Sea. This prominent discordance area is superimposed in the German North Sea region by neogenic delta formations of the Baltic river system. In the reclining of this horizon, on the other hand, there is a large-scale Beckensedimentation directed towards the central North Sea. In the duck beak, the MMU reaches depths between 400-1 500 m.
