Residence permits, publication of 12 June 2020

Description

The first residence permits correspond to the permits issued to adult foreigners following a first application for residence, but do not take into account the renewals of titles themselves when these change in nature (for example, an alien entered on the “student” motive who would pass into the “employee” pattern thereafter will not be counted a second time as the first title). The data for 2019 are provisional. Given the deadlines between the submission of an application and the issuance of the permit, these deadlines having been amplified with the COVID-19 health crisis, some of the documents for 2019 are not yet registered in the national management base for residence permits. They will be counted later, when the final data is published in January 2021. The stock of valid securities in circulation does not exactly correspond to the presence of a foreign national in the territory because the title remains valid even if the foreigner has left France.
