Sirene Base of the Metropolis of Lyon
Description
INSEE has been making available the SIRENE file free of charge since the beginning of 2017. Data is updated monthly on the platform data.gouv.fr.
The Métropole de Lyon has carried out a processing in order to present the data covering the municipalities of its territory, from:
— the stock register of the institutions (all institutions active and closed in their current state in the register)
— from the stock file of legal units
— the establishment geolocation file (https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/geolocalisation-des-etablissements-du-repertoire-sirene-pour-les-etudes-statistiques/)
As the Sirene database contains personal data, INSEE draws your attention to the legal obligations arising from it:
— The processing of these data falls under the declaration obligations of Law 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended, known as the CNIL Law:https://www.cnil.fr/fr/loi-78-17-du-6-janvier-1978-modifiee
— Depending on your use of the dataset, it is your responsibility to take into account the most recent dissemination status of each natural person.
Article A123-96 of the Commercial Code provides that:
‘Any natural person may request, either directly during his creation or modification formalities or by letter addressed to the Director-General of the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies, that the information in the register concerning him or her may not be used by third parties other than the bodies authorised under Article R. 123-224 or administrations, for purposes of prospecting, in particular commercial purposes.’
Each establishment on metropolitan territory has been associated with its geolocation and legal unit.
Data conforming to INSEE’s formalism are available in the zip file in the ‘Download’ tab.

All the active geolocated institutions were then integrated into the data available on the data.grandlyon.com portal. For this purpose, the number of attributes was limited and the attribute names were simplified to allow a better understanding of the data.
