The functioning of the disciplinary jurisdiction of hospital teaching staff
Description
The hospital-university staff, who are less than 10,000 in France, are selected after an extremely demanding course. In addition to their threefold mission of care, teaching and research, they usually perform the functions of head of department or as a hub. They depend on a specific disciplinary court, established in 1958: the Disciplinary Jurisdiction of Hospital Teachers (JDHU).
With 13 cases identified until 2015 and 17 cases dealt with since 2016, this court struggles to assume its role in the ethical regulation assigned to it by law. It appears necessary to extend the reforms recently undertaken, in order to make the disciplinary procedure more transparent and closer to its citizens and to the heads of institutions, universities and CHUs.
