Urban entrance and exit signs - Department of Calvados
Description
Identification of traffic signs delimiting the entrances (EB10) and exits (EB20) of agglomeration in the Department of Calvados.
The agglomeration limits are fixed by order of the mayor. They establish the location of the signs for entering and leaving agglomerations on a section of road, resulting in a maximum speed to be respected by vehicles: ≤ 50 km/h in built-up areas.
The agglomeration limits determine the respective powers of the mayor and the president of the departmental council with regard to traffic police (Articles L 3221-4 and L 3221-5, L. 2213-1, L. 2215-1 of the General Code of Local Authorities, R.411-5 of the Highway Code) and maintenance (Articles L. 131-1 et seq. of the Highway Code).
**Collection context**
Since 2002, the Department of Calvados has been administering a geographic information system (GIS) with a road component and regularly produces data that are spatialized in the road geographic information system (SIGR), as part of the monitoring of its management, maintenance and development policy.
**Collection method**
The services of the Directorate of Roads of Calvados use a GPS to identify the entrance and exit signs of agglomerations located on the departmental public road domain.
The geographical information pole of the Department of Calvados imports the geolocated data by GPS and generates a vector layer of points locating each entrance and exit panel of agglomeration.
