Regional Harmonised Pedological Reference of the Occitanie Region

Description

The Regional Pedological Reference (RRP) aims to produce information on the knowledge of soils restored at the 1/250,000 scale. The information collected makes it possible to constitute a map representation of the spatial distribution of soils, in the form of Soil Cartographic Units (UCS), combined with a **database in a unique national DoneSol format**. The Harmonised Regional Pedological Reference for the Occitanie region is the result of the National Inventory, Soil Management and Conservation Programme ([IGCS](https://www.gissol.fr/le-gis/programmes/inventaire-gestion-et-conservation-des-sols-igcs-67#:~:text=Lire%20la%20suite-,Un%20inventaire%20de%20la%20nature%20des%20sols%20et%20de%20leur,int%C3%A9r%C3%AAt%20pour%20l'agriculture%20et)), implemented in Occitanie by the [Laboratory Functional Ecology and Environment](https://www.eco.omp.eu/), [LISAH](https://tarn.chambre-agriculture.fr/), the [Chamber of Agriculture of Tarn](https://tarn.chambre-agriculture.fr/) and MIDIVAL. The expected reliability of the data must be in line with the announced scale of use (1/250 000). Any interpretation of the data at a level of accuracy greater than that indicated in the name of the file is not recommended. In particular, the database does not have the precision required for infra-communal scale expertise. The elaboration of the RRP of the Occitanie region stems from a work of graphical and semantic harmonisation between the RRPs of the former Midi-Pyrénées and Languedoc-Roussillon regions. This harmonisation work has therefore led to changes in the original information, mainly at the departmental borders. The scale of the map is 1/250,000. Semantic data is stored in the DoneSol3 database format. Each UCS is described as well as the Soil Typological Units (UTS) it contains.
