Perimeter of the Salev Landscape Protection and Development Directive
Description
According to the 1993 “landscapes” Act, “On territories remarkable for their landscape interest, defined in consultation with the local authorities concerned and where those territories are not the subject of special requirements adopted pursuant to Article L. 111-1-1 of the Urban Planning Code, the State may adopt directives for the protection and development of landscapes.”
The Directive sets out guidelines and protection principles for urban planning documents (P.L.U, S.C.O.T).
In France two landscape directives have been decreed. They concern the Alpilles (Bouches-du-Rhône) and Mont Salève (Haute-Savoie).
