The public establishment Campus Condorcet
Description
Announced in September 2009, the project to create a campus dedicated to the humanities and social sciences (SHS) was to be the instrument for the relaunch of this discipline in France. The public institution Campus Condorcet (EPCC), often presented as the counterpart of the Paris-Saclay operation, is the result of a partnership project involving eleven institutions, schools, universities and research organisations. The Grand Documentary Equipment (GED) was conceived as an internationally pooled documentary and digital platform whose mission was to unite the whole. However, the Court notes that the commissioning of that public establishment today faces major difficulties: its mode of operation (between cooperation, pooling and coordination) has not been defined precisely, and its ability to support researchers in their work — in addition to access to the equipment it offers them — remains to be developed. There is a great risk that this institution, well below initial expectations, will be reduced to a role of manager of a real estate project to date.
