Soils worthy of protection in Lower Saxony 1: 50000 – Floors with special site characteristics (WFS service)
Description
Soils that are particularly worthy of protection include soils whose natural functions and their archiving function are essentially preserved. Impairments of these functions should be avoided under soil protection law (cf. §1 BBodSchG). Soils with special site characteristics are soils with an extreme degree of individual characteristics that determine the location (e.g. moisture, dryness, nutrient storage capacity, buffer area)
The methods for determining the protection of soils in Lower Saxony are detailed in Bug et al. (2019) described. The basis of the evaluations is the soil map of Lower Saxony 1: 50000 (BK50).
