Description

Current state of development of BAFA-funded heat pumps in Berlin, including the number of installations and their electrical output, per district or postal code. Heat pumps generate heat for heating or heating drinking water by using environmental heat. Electric heat pumps need electricity to make the environmental heat usable. The heat sources can vary. The most common sources of environmental heat include groundwater, air and soil. Provided that careful planning is carried out, heat pumps can be used economically and environmentally friendly both in existing buildings and in new buildings. The data basis for this data set is limited to installations that have been funded by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control under the Market Incentive Programme (MAP) and the Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (BEG) since 2010. Therefore, the data presented here is not comprehensive, but is intended to show the developments in the expansion of renewable thermal energy.
