Water extraction areas (Environmental Regulation)
Description
This stock contains drinking water extraction areas as laid down in the Environmental Ordinance of the Province of Groningen. In this Environmental Regulation, we have introduced rules to protect these areas. In water extraction areas, in principle, only activities that are directly or indirectly related to the production of drinking water are permitted. Activities, which may be harmful to groundwater extraction are prohibited here, such as the use of manure and pesticides, deep digging or drilling and the discharge of harmful substances onto or into the soil.
