Linear entrances and exits of agglomeration - Department of Calvados
Description
Census of sections of track outside and in agglomerations, in the Department of Calvados, with indication of their setting in relation to the entrance and exit signs of agglomeration.
The agglomeration limits on departmental roads are fixed by order of the mayor. They establish the location of the signs for entering and leaving agglomerations on a section of road, resulting in a maximum speed to be respected by vehicles: ≤ 50 km/h in built-up areas.
The agglomeration limits determine the respective powers of the mayor and the president of the departmental council with regard to traffic police (Articles L 3221-4 and L 3221-5, L. 2213-1, L. 2215-1 of the General Code of Local Authorities, R.411-5 of the Highway Code) and maintenance (Articles L. 131-1 et seq. of the Highway Code).
**Collection context**
Since 2002, the Department of Calvados has been managing a geographic information system - GIS - with a road component. All information relating to the management of the departmental public road domain is provided through the Department's Road Geographic Information System (SIGR).
The road graph is digitized from departmental orthophotos.
The latest updates to the road graph were made from the 2020 IGN orthophoto.
**Collection method**
The technical teams of the Department of Calvados update the agglomeration boundaries in the road geographic information system (SIGR), following the mayor's order.
