Description
State of the departmental bike plan of Calvados.
Launched in 2004 over a twelve-year period, the cycling plan has made it possible to support the development of leisure cycling, gradually creating a first network of cycle routes throughout the county. During the primitive 2019 budget, the departmental council adopted a new bike plan 2019-2025. The Department aims to complete the structuring routes, namely the coastal cycle route to Bessin before 2022, the Seine cycle route with an arrival in Honfleur and a southern Calvados route linking Livarot to Vire Normandie, by 2025.
The bicycle plan in summary: 491 km of bike lanes, 5 major routes, 17 tourist loops to come.
**Collection context**
The Environment Department of the Department of Calvados is responsible for implementing the cycling plan defined by the departmental council for 15 years and has established a linear state in order to follow its evolution.
**Collection method**
The Environment Department has thus created a vector layer, from the TOPO® and ORTHO® BD of the IGN-F (National Institute of Geographical and Forest Information), consisting of polylines corresponding respectively to the routes open to the circulation of the bike map, in progress or projected.
