Heat – People with somatic conditions in paved neighbourhoods (2020)
Description
This map shows the percentage of the group with a somatic condition living in the most paved neighbourhoods of the province of Zuid-Holland. On this map only the neighborhoods are visible where at least 60 % of the neighborhood is paved. The distribution of the group with a somatic disorder is an expected* number of people aged 19 years or older with one or more somatic diseases and a mobility disability in an independent household
When it comes to taking climate adaptive measures in these neighbourhoods, it is to be expected that these residents will have to be supported in taking climate adaptive measures, because they may not be physically able to do so themselves. Greening neighbourhoods with a lot of hardening can contribute to lowering the temperature, the infiltration of rainwater and the livability of the neighborhood. This map can help prioritise neighborhoods where extra effort is needed, and where residents will need to be supported to green their neighborhood.
The neighbourhoods in the province of Zuid-Holland that are paved for less than 60 %, and neighborhoods where less than 1 % of vulnerable families live are not shown on this map.
