Description

Surface temperature mapped by a colour gradient representing hot/cold areas (red to blue). The source data Landsat 8 has a pixel of 30 m. The shot was taken on July 4, 2015 at 10:20 UTC (i.e. 12:20 local time). The data was corrected for atmospheric, topographical and emissivity effects. Warning of use: the surface temperature is not the air temperature. It is therefore not a map of Chaleur Ilots but a map of the warmest surfaces seen from the sky, during the day. Thus, in dense areas we will mainly have the temperature of the roofs, when the streets are wider we will also have the temperature of roads or floors, in any case the impact of the facades will not be visible. Two resources are downloadable: a map in PDF format covering the entire Métropole of Lyon and a zip containing the maps in PDF format per municipality of the Métropole.
