Description
**Presentation of the dataset producer service**
The creation of the Central Civil Registry Service (SCEC) in Nantes in 1965 was intended to allow our compatriots easy access to civil status documents drawn up before the independence of the states formerly under French sovereignty.
The SCEC is responsible for all civil status events occurring abroad (birth, marriage, death) involving French nationals.
The data produced present the activity of the ECCS in terms of the operation and establishment of acts.
The decrease in production observed in 2020 is linked to an unprecedented health crisis that led to the suspension of certain functions for two months.
**The dataset consists of two resources:**
— 20210426_SCEC-Statistics SCEC-2012-2020 (.csv) embedding data on the activity of the Central Civil Service for the period 2012 to 2020. The data are updated annually.
— 20210426_SCEC_notice-accompanying (.pdf) is a glossary specifying the semantics of the data and explaining both the production context of the dataset, as well as some clarifications necessary to understand the activity of the producer service.
