Description
The Land Map of Schleswig-Holstein 1:250,000 represents the land’s soils in the form of soil societies. Each area is assigned a dominant type of guiding soil and up to three subordinate accompanying soil types. The color of the map representation depends on the guiding floor type. In addition to the soil types, the map contains information on soil species stratification, ground exit rock and stratigraphic position of the base rocks. The soils are described up to 2 m below terrain surface. The map is based on the Geological Map of Schleswig-Holstein 1:250,000. The names of soil types (soil systematic units) and soil species refer to the Soil History Carving Instructions (Ad-hoc-AG Soil 2005).
