Potential natural vegetation (pnV) in Saxony 1:50 000

Description

The data of the "potential natural vegetation" (pnV) provide information about the (final) state of the natural vegetation of Saxony, which would prevail under the current site conditions if the land use by humans was absent. For Saxony's PNV, data are available for maps in scales 1:50 000, 1:200 000 and 1:300 000. The pnV 1:50 000 was collected as part of the research and development project "Preparation of a map of the potential natural vegetation of Saxony in scale 1:50 000" on behalf of the Saxon State Office for the Environment and Geology and further deepened as part of the research and development project "Map of the potential natural vegetation of Germany 1:50 000, subproject Saxony" on behalf of the Federal Office for Nature Conservation. The scale 1:200 000 represents an intermediate product that was made to produce the scale 1:500 000.
