GEMAPI perimeters of the Morvan Regional Natural Park on the upstream Yonne-Cure-Cousin watershed
Description
The Gemapi competence covers four mandatory fields of action: watershed management (excluding urban rainwater issues); maintenance and development of watercourses; flood defence, especially through river maintenance; the protection and ecological restoration of aquatic ecosystems. This last point is essential to maintain the good quality of ecosystems. It also includes restoration operations of ecological continuity and management of the main wetlandsThe Gemapi competence was transferred to the Park on 01/01/2016 on a territory covering 116 municipalities and belonging to 9 communities of municipalities. This territory covers an area of 1 930 km2 and is covered by more than 1 600 km of rivers.
