LGRB-BW KMR50: Former extraction of raw materials in open pit mining (area)
Description
In addition to the recording of the current extraction of raw materials, quarries, clay, clay, sand and gravel mines operated before 1986 are also mapped and documented (as well as the areas of existing extraction sites once again released from the concession). These “reducings” occur particularly frequently in areas with interesting deposits and thus provide important indications of the past use and quality of the deposit concerned. In addition, it is important to identify areas that have already been mined and filled as accurately as possible in order to support planning of a wide range of types (future extraction of raw materials, temporary mining for monument maintenance, road construction, designation of construction areas, etc.). Old excavations are recorded area-like from a surface size of 0.5 ha. A distinction is made between: (3) Former excavation area = no longer concessioned area in which earlier (including historical) mining was bypassed; it is subdivided into (3a) former extraction area, fully dismantled (no more stocks) (3b) former extraction area, not fully mined, but without constructional reserves (3c) of the former mining area, not fully mined, with remaining stocks still worth building.
