County of Herford: Compensation areas
Description
The perpetrator of interventions in nature and landscape is obliged to compensate for or replace unavoidable impairments by measures of nature conservation and landscape maintenance (compensation measures) (replacement measures). An impairment is balanced if and as soon as the impaired functions of the natural balance have been restored in a similar manner and the landscape has been restored or redesigned in accordance with the landscape (Section 15(2) of the BNatSchG). In the list of compensations, only those compensation measures larger than 500 m2 are to be published by law. In addition, the district of Herford also includes compensation measures from 200 m2 in the list and publishes them.
