INSPIRE Download Service (predefined ATOM) for data set wind potential areas in Saarland
Description
Description of the INSPIRE Download Service (predefined Atom): Determined wind potential areas in the Saarland and their conflict risk assessment from the nationwide wind potential analysis. "In a nationwide spatial assessment, it was assessed for each individual area unit (grid cell 10 m × 10 m) whether the construction of a wind turbine on the area would be excluded or how high the associated risk of triggering conflicts with existing uses or protection concerns would be. In addition to the exclusion, 5 conflict risk classes were defined in which different implementation rates between 5 and 100 percent were assumed. The areas of KRW 1 are very suitable for the construction of wind turbines. The realisation rate is up to 100%, which is why the areas have also been counted 100% towards the total area potential. The surfaces of the KRW 2 are well suited. The implementation rate is up to 80%. Therefore, only 80 % of these areas were taken into account in the calculation of the total area potential. Accordingly, the surfaces of KRW 3 are only moderately suitable. Since the realisation rate due to restrictions (e.g. forest areas, nature conservation concerns) is up to 60%, these areas could only be counted to 60% in the calculation of the total area potential. The areas of KRW 4, on the other hand, are only partially suitable for the construction of wind turbines. Among other things, due to restrictions on species and biotope protection, the realisation rate of these potential areas is only 20%. Therefore, only 20% of these areas could be counted towards the calculation of the total area potential. The areas of KRW 5 contain potentials with the highest conflicts. The possibility of realization is up to 5%. Therefore, only 5% of the area could be taken into account for the calculation of the total area potential. As a rule, a case-by-case assessment is necessary here, for example in the field of civil aviation. In addition, there are of course the areas that are completely unsuitable for wind turbines and are therefore considered as exclusion. These are, for example, areas in nature reserves.
