60 years and over: indicators at municipality level

Description

This database provides data at a fine level of detail since it is made by municipality. The number of variables in this database is of the order of 80. Information can be found on localised social and fiscal income and on the characteristics of the population, such as the type of housing, but also on the average population density, which makes it possible to identify congested areas. Indicators relating to the services available per municipality are present, such as the number of pharmacies, general practitioners, nurses, etc., but also the number of home care services or services for meals at home. This makes it possible to establish the presence or absence of certain equipment and to establish the distance at which this equipment is located from unequipped municipalities. Data from Localised Potential Accessibility (LPA) will complement this information as it measures care supply and demand. Data on the number of civil servants in the territorial civil service and contract workers in the CCAS also make it possible to know how many people there are for an elderly person and to locate those people within the municipalities and see where there are the fewest. To complement this dataset, see Issue 37 of Social Policy Issues – Studies on territorial disparities in ageing and access to care.
