Earth Depth Observations (display service)
Description
The view service displays the Earth Depth Observations data set, which contains a compilation of points with Earth Depth data from various databases at SGU that contain stratigraphic observations or otherwise contain data on Earth Depth or Rock Observations.
Soil depth refers to the power of the soil layers down to solid rock. The service includes both observations where soil power down to mountains has been found (actual soil depth), as well as observations where mountains have not been found (minimum soil depth). There are also observations where the mountain is exposed (the soil depth is 0 meters).
