BDSol L-R (Donesol Version 3)

Description

Languedoc-Roussillon soil database at the scale of 1/250 000th**. The structure of the relational database adopts DONESOL Version 3. This database is used as semantic data with the Regional Pedological Reference. This database contains all information related to the Soil Cartographic Units, Soil Typological Units, strata, soil profiles and horizons. For more information about the structure of the database, refer to the DONESOL Version 3 database dictionary. Launched in 1992, this operation was completed in the years 1997-1998 and was carried out according to the general organisation scheme of the I.G.C.S programme and according to the technical specifications of the General Technical Clauses (CCTGs) of soil standards. It is in this context that the***INRAE*** (formerly INRA) and the Agro Montpellier Institute*** (formerly SupAgro) have developed, within the Joint Research Unit “Sol and Environment”, a database on soils in the former Languedoc Roussillon region hereinafter referred to as “BDSol-LR” and labeled by the I.G.C.S. programme on 12 November 2008. This repository covers the whole region, i.e. 2,780,000 hectares cut into more than 4,000 cartographic beaches. It corresponds to 400 different cartographic units that are delimited, inventoried and defined by more than 30 information: environmental characteristics, description of soil units with their stratification, depth, texture, porosity, hydromorphy, carbonate content, pH... all the interesting morpho-analytical characteristics to define a Cartographic Unit. ***OPenIG publishes on behalf of INRAE and both organisations discharge any responsibility for any use that may be made of the data made available. The responsibility of the Establishments is limited to the making available of the Files and their compliance with the technical specifications mentioned in the preamble of the Convention. The Establishments provided all necessary care to establish the Files. However, should errors or anomalies remain, institutions cannot be held responsible for their consequences. Similarly, the Institutions are not responsible for the use that will be made of the Files data by the Recipient.*** Access to the BD Sol is open to all provided that they have an “openig.org” account and request access to the resource.
