Natural Areas of Ecological Interest Family and Floristic Type 2 interregional with Burgundy-Franche-Comté

Description

The table contains the outlines of the Natural Zones of Wildlife and Floristic Interest (ZNIEFF) type II of 2nd generation interregional with Burgundy-Franche-Comté. It corresponds to the contours of the second generation ZNIEFF type II managed by another region and of which at least one commune in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region is included in the perimeter. This table comes from the second-generation INPN Type II ZNIEFF table. Table fields include the MNHN identifier, site name, local region identifier, official area area and relevant departments. Further information on these Type II ZNIEFFs is available on request from the corresponding DREALs. The ZNIEFF inventory is fully validated. The last regional validations (by the Regional Scientific Council of Natural Heritage) date from December 2019 and the last nationals (by the National Museum of Natural History of Paris) date from January 2020. The ZNIEFF inventory is a naturalistic and scientific inventory program launched in 1982 by the Bouchardeau Ministry responsible for the environment and confirmed by the law of 12 July 1983 known as Loi Bouchardeau. A ZNIEFF is not a regulatory protection measure but an inventory. It corresponds to the census of remarkable terrestrial, river and marine natural areas (metropole and overseas departments). The designation of a ZNIEFF is based on the presence of species or associations of species with high regional or national heritage interest. These naturalistic data are also mapped via the contours of the ZNIEFF. This knowledge base, combined with the contours, serves as a basis for prioritising the challenges of the natural heritage, makes it possible to improve their consideration before any project, but also to improve the determination of the impact of the development on these environments and finally to identify the need to protect certain fragile areas. Type II areas correspond to large homogeneous natural complexes (forest mass, valley, plateau, etc.) rich and little modified, or which offer significant biological potential. In these areas, it is important to respect the great ecological balances, taking into account, in particular, the vital domain of sedentary or migratory fauna.
