The table contains the contours of the Nature Areas of Faunistic and Floristic Interest (ZNIEFF) of 2nd generation in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.The inventory of ZNIEFF is fully validated. The latest regional validations (by the Regional Scientific Council for Natural Heritage) date back to 2020 and the latest national validations (by the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle de Paris) date from December 2020. the ZNIEFF inventory is a naturalist and scientific inventory programme launched in 1982 by the Bouchardeau ministry responsible for the environment and confirmed by the Bouchardeau Law of 12 July 1983. A ZNIEFF is not a regulatory protection measure but an inventory. It corresponds to the identification of outstanding terrestrial, river and marine natural areas (metropolitan areas and overseas departments).The designation of a ZNIEFF is based on the presence of species or associations of species of high regional or national heritage interest. These naturalist data are also mapped via the contours of the ZNIEFF.This knowledge base, together with the contours, serves as a basis for prioritising the issues at stake in the natural heritage, makes it possible to improve their focus on any project, but also to improve the determination of the impact of developments on these environments and to identify the need to protect certain vulnerable areas. These areas are particularly sensitive to equipment or transformations, even if limited.
