Population present in the territory before and after the start of confinement — First results
Description
The announcement of the lockdown on March 16th and its implementation from March 17 at noon were accompanied by population movements in metropolitan France. These displacements have led to a new distribution of the population in the territory that is important to document. This information is useful for public decision-making, in particular for the purpose of dimensioning the provision of care and services in the territory. This exceptional situation, pandemic and containment, led INSEE to collaborate with Orange to develop an initial description of the new distribution of the population on the territory.
INSEE considers these results to be provisional. The latter will be consolidated and then updated from more recent information from several operators and alternative sources.
