Description
Aerial images are reduced photographic images of a part of the Earth’s surface. They are taken from aircraft with special cameras in Nadir direction (vertical downwards). They document the state of the landscape at the time of recording and contain all information about the landscape visible from a bird’s eye view. Due to the central projective imaging of the photograph and because terrain surface and image plane are usually not parallel, the terrain is distorted in the aerial image. Digital aerial images are georeferenced via their orientation parameters, are available nationwide and are renewed in a 2-year cycle. They are manufactured according to the product standard of the country based on the definitions of an AdV standard (AdV Association of Surveying Administrations of the Länder) and according to their soil resolution (cm per pixel; Ground Sample Distance (GSD). The digital aerial images have a floor resolution of 10 cm/pixel and are 4-channel multispectral images with the channel occupancy RGBI (Red-Green-Blue-Nahes_Infrared).
