Number of daily deaths per department
Description
Exceptionally, during the Covid-19 pandemic, INSEE broadcasts weekly the number of deaths per day and by region and department. Deaths are recorded at the place of the event (not at the place of residence). The statistics disseminated are provisional (refer to the methodological note).
As indicated in the methodological note, these data cover all causes of death and are therefore far superior to pandemic-related deaths. They are transmitted by the town halls to the regional directorates of INSEE either in a dematerialised manner or in paper form.
