Roof cadastre Vienna — Inner city

Description

The roof works of the 1st Districts were investigated as part of the project “Dachkaaster Wien — Innere Stadt” by the Federal Monument Office and the City of Vienna. For the approximately 1,500 buildings, the construction age of the roofs, their respective distribution and number, as well as their expansion status and the year of the roof extension were assessed. On the basis of this survey, a representative selection of 205 roofing plants was investigated between 2016 and 2020. On the basis of these examples, the historical construction types could be analysed and placed in a time sequence. The construction age mapping of the roofs is made available online and includes: — the age of construction divided into 13 epochs — the location of 78 objects with 205 examined roof structures — 205 roofing plants with dendrochronological dating, layout and typological classification — Overview of the construction types of the Vienna city centre
