Contextual data of intercommunalities and other territorial structures

Description

As part of its activities, the Directorate-General for Local Authorities (DGCL) operates the portal for Access to Public Services to Community Information (ASPIC). Data about intercommunalities are entered in this portal. ## Intercommunal data Among the data contained in ASPIC is the national database on intercommunalities (Banatic). Banatic data provides information on intercommunalities: geographical location, legal nature, date of creation, perimeter, financial profile, powers exercised and the chairperson of the legislative body. **These data are published in another [dataset](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/base-nationale-sur-les-intercommunalites/)**. ## Contextual data of intercommunalities The data presented in the National Intercommunal Database (Banatic) is complemented by contextual data from the Public Service Access to Community Information Portal (ASPIC). This dataset offers two types of data: — Data on the financial and fiscal resources of inter-municipalities, municipalities, departments:overall operating allocation, rural solidarity endowment, national total equalisation allocation, local elected allocation, etc. — Socio-demographic data of intercommunalities and other territorial structures: population, population change, density; income, activity rate, unemployment rate, etc. (no income data, activity rate, unemployment rate for intercommunalities, cantons) These data come from two data producers: — Data on the financial and fiscal resources of intercommunalities are produced by the Directorate-General for Local Authorities (DGCL). — Socio-demographic data of intercommunalities are produced and published by the [National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE)](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/organizations/institut-national-de-la-statistique-et-des-etudes-economiques-insee/). The proposed geographical scope is as follows: — Municipalities — Groupings — Departments — Cantons — Arrondissements The statistics available are specific to each geographical grid. To find these different statistics, you can refer to the ZIP documentation file containing the code tables for each file.
