GN 4 — Additional management conditions in protected areas
Description
In nature reserves, in the national parks “Harz” and “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea”, as well as in Area C of the Biosphere Reserve “Lower Saxony Elbtalaue” as well as in Bremic Natura 2000 protected areas or other areas with sovereignly regulated usage requirements for permanent grassland, there is a right to compensation. Building on these conditions, additional support will be granted under a 5-year commitment for more extensive farming conditions that limit agricultural use. The management conditions that can be offered and combined in the respective area depend on the definition of nature conservation requirements for the purpose of protection. The determination is made by the relevant UNB in advance, taking into account regional specific circumstances and operational possibilities. Further management conditions may include: no mechanical tillage in spring, no grassland renewal, post-seeding possible as overseed, no chemical pesticides, no fertilisation, no agricultural use in spring.
