Description
Surface temperature that can be mapped by a colour gradient representing hot/cold areas (see overview). Single channel raster data. One pixel represents 30 m of terrain;
the source data Landsat 8 has a pixel of 30 m. The shot was taken on July 4, 2015 at 10:20 UTC (i.e. 12:20 local time).
The data was corrected for atmospheric, topographical and emissivity effects.
Warning of use:
the surface temperature is not the air temperature.
We can therefore not obtain, from this data, a map of the Chaleur Ilots but a map of the warmest surfaces seen from the sky, during the day.
Thus, in dense areas we will mainly have the temperature of the roofs, when the streets are wider we will also have the temperature of roads or floors, in any case the impact of the facades will not be visible.
Temperatures are expressed in Kelvin degree.
