Description
The Helsinki Surface Model data combines a 3D surface model describing the ground surface, ortho-aerial photographs of the city and 3D buildings in Helsinki (precision level LOD1). The data cover the entire area of the City of Helsinki.
The coordinate system is ETRS-GK25 (EPSG:3879) and the height system is N2000. The accuracy level of the building material (*Level of Detail*) is LOD1. The 3D building model of the LOD1 accuracy level presents buildings as simple cubic model data.
The data maintenance and location data are based on the location data of the Kantakarta (nominal scale 1:500). The starting data for the maintenance of the 3D building material are ground measurements and laser scanning carried out by the city.
The data can be downloaded from the Helsinki map service in SKP and KMZ formats. The data can be utilized, for example, with the free Sketchup modelling software.
