Description
Punctual objects representing the exact positions of the hotels of metropolitan and ultramarine prefectures — except Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon and Wallis-et-Futuna.
The origin of these data can be found on the Wikipedia page “List of hotels in the prefecture of France” whose table was reformatted and then exported in CSV format (delimiter: semicolon) so that it can be imported into QGIS (“Add a delimited layer of text” accurately from fields X and Y).
However, the positions of the hotels in the prefectures of Paris, Dijon, Belfort and Mâcon had to be corrected. As a result, the geographical coordinates of all objects (105) have been recalculated and appear in decimal degrees in two fields (LonDD and LatDD).
The following are provided:
— the layer in GeoJSON and SHP formats (shapefile) — EPSG:4326,
— the CSV delimited file
— the spreadsheet file used to format source data (ODS).
Note: Not to be confused with the layer “Prefectures and subprefectures (point)” made available on this site by DREAL Poitou-Charentes and consisting of centroids of surface objects representing prefectures and sub-prefectures.
