Local Public Finance 2019 — Paper 1
Description
To improve Parliament’s information, the Court now presents its annual report on local public finances in two stages.
For the third consecutive year, local governments recorded a surplus of EUR 2.3 billion in national accounts, their revenues being more dynamic than their expenditure. The effort to control operating expenditure has focused, in particular, on the wage bill. The increase in their savings confirmed the reboot of local public investment observed in 2017.
