Sources of information on official development assistance
Description
On 9 April 2019, the sixth [Forum Open d’Etat] took place (https://www.etalab.gouv.fr/forum-open-detat-6-strengthening-transparency-of-public-aid-to-development-by-openness-of-donations), in partnership with the French Development Agency. The Forum brought together administrations and civil society working on official development assistance: Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, OECD, Oxfam, Action Against Hunger, CCFD.
A presentation by the Agence Française de Développement and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs on the official development assistance portal provided an opportunity to discuss the history and current events of the open data on official development assistance and the data of the two institutions.
After the interventions of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Oxfam and the OECD, which made it possible to discover all the ways of processing official development assistance data, workshops engaged the public on sources of information for official development assistance and impact studies.
The workshops highlighted the participants’ requests for impact studies (length and harmonisation of project fiches, etc.) and identified the various possible sources of information on the subject of official development assistance: open data portal, newspapers, institutional reports etc.
