SERVITUDES RELATING TO SAY FORESTS OF PROTECTION INSTITUTED UNDER ARTICLES L. 141-1 TO L. 141-7 OF THE FOREST CODE IN TEST
Description
The following may be classified as protected forests in the public interest:
- woods and forests the conservation of which is recognized as necessary for the maintenance of land on the
mountains and on slopes, to protect against avalanches, erosions and invasions
water and sand;
- woods and forests on the outskirts of large agglomerations;
- woods and forests located in areas where their maintenance is necessary either for ecological reasons,
or for the well-being of the population.
Protective forests shall be subject to a special forestry regime, in particular as regards:
development and operating rules, grazing and user rights, excavations
and extraction of materials and the research and exploitation of water resources by
public authorities or their delegates.
Classification as a Protective Forest prohibits any change of use or mode
land use likely to jeopardise the conservation or protection of afforestation.
