Metadata catalog Braunschweig (CSW interface)
Description
The metadata catalog of the city of Braunschweig serves within the administration to improve the transparency of the spatial data offer and to easily locate the spatial data available at a wide range of locations. This means that additional effort and duplication can be avoided. Metadata is therefore an important part of the Braunschweig spatial data infrastructure (GDI) and serves the efficient use of the geographical information system. The contents of the metadata catalogue are under construction and are constantly updated, supplemented and expanded in scope. The collection and maintenance of meta-information is carried out on the basis of international standards and standards and thus also meets an important requirement of the European Community for the development of a European spatial data infrastructure, the so-called INSPIRE Directive and federal and state laws based on it. The metadata catalogues of the federal government, state and local authorities should be technically networked via a uniform standard interface. The metadata catalogue can be found in the urban geoportal FRISBI or directly at http://www.braunschweig.de/metadatenkatalog. The Braunschweig metadata are available to other metadata catalogs through the so-called harvesting via a standardised interface, the Catalogue Service Web, in short: CSW) available.
