The thematic group includes an overall assessment of soils with regard to their protection. Above all, floors of high functionality are displayed and thus particularly protected floors are filtered out. Soils are assessed according to their functional capacity (natural yield, biotope development potential, control function in the material balance, archiving function) and their proximity to nature, taking into account sensitivities (e.g. areas at risk of erosion).
The following 2 categories are distinguished:
1. Area to be protected from structural use
2. Option area for soil-related compensatory and replacement measures or subordinate structural use
The foundations are, among other things, the soil concept map, the Reichsboden estimate and the city biotope mapping.
