On-demand potentials in Saarland, feeder stops
Description
On-demand traffic as feeder traffic is linked to public transport at so-called supply stations (also called feeder stations). These were defined in the opening date together with the contracting authority and in the Saarland are primarily the stops for rail transport and other selected bus stops, which are shown. The Saarland Transport Development Plan (VEP) ÖPNV foresees a further development of the public transport offer by establishing demand-oriented modes of operation in public transport, especially in rural areas. A data-based analysis should be used to identify in which areas of the Saarland Transport Association (SaarVV) supply gaps exist. It was derived from this where potentially demand-based public transport could be set up as on-demand services (so-called on-demand traffic) as feeder and taker services to the existing public transport system. The Mobility Analytics team of ioki GmbH was commissioned to investigate these on-demand potentials in Saarland.
